COUNCIL BILL __________________

AN ORDINANCE relating to the Seattle Department of Transportation; accepting a statutory warranty deed for the donation of certain real property in the vicinity of the Ballard Bridge in Lots 8 and 9, Block 100, Gilman's Addition to the City of Seattle; and laying-off, opening, widening, extending, establishing, and designating the property for street purposes; placing the real property conveyed by such deed under the jurisdiction of the Department of Transportation; and ratifying and confirming certain prior acts.

WHEREAS, the City of Seattle is continually adding inventory to expand the City's transportation system to better serve the transportation and utility needs of the city; and

WHEREAS, a private property owner desiring to donate property to the City of Seattle to enhance the city's transportation system and benefit the residents of Seattle approached the Department of Transportation for this purpose; and

WHEREAS, the Seattle City Charter requires that all acquisition of real property be accepted by or under authority of ordinance; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF SEATTLE AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. The Statutory Warranty Deed from ANDREA R. SANBORN, a single person, dated October 11, 2013 and recorded under King County Recording Number 20131210000203, which is attached as Attachment A and incorporated into this ordinance, is accepted for street purposes, placed under the jurisdiction of the Department of Transportation, and laid off, opened, widened, extended, and established as right-of-way.

Section 2. Any act consistent with this ordinance taken prior to its effective date is hereby ratified and confirmed.

Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force 30 days after its approval by the Mayor, but if not approved and returned by the Mayor within ten days after presentation, it shall take effect as provided by Seattle Municipal Code Section 1.04.020.
