ORDINANCE _________________
AN ORDINANCE relating to the Technology Matching Fund Program; making allocations and authorizing implementation of certain Technology Matching Fund projects in 2007; and providing that 2007 appropriations for the Technology Matching Fund from the Cable
Television Franchise Subfund and from the Information Technology Fund shall automatically carry forward into the 2008 fiscal year.
WHEREAS, the City of Seattle has determined that it is important to enable digital equity and provide opportunity for all its residents, including sufficient access to electronic information, technology literacy, and the application of technology for
civic engagement; and
WHEREAS, Resolution 29673 established a Technology Matching Fund Program for such purposes and identified project selection criteria and a process for selecting projects; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seattle has appropriated $160,000 in the 2007 Adopted Budget from the Cable Television Franchise Subfund and from the Information Technology Fund for the Community Technology Program to implement Technology Matching Fund projects;
and
WHEREAS, the Citizens Telecommunications and Technology Advisory Board (CTTAB) has recommended projects for funding, and the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) concurs with those recommendations; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF SEATTLE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Mayor or his designee is hereby authorized to proceed with implementation of the following 15 projects on behalf of the City:

Section 2. The Mayor or his designee is authorized to execute contracts and encumber funds in the amount of these allocations.
Section 3. Any portion of the $160,000 allocated to the Technology Matching Fund Program from the appropriation made from the Cable Television Franchise Subfund for the Cable Fee Support to Information Technology Fund Budget Control Level (D160B) and
from the appropriation made from the Information Technology Fund for the Office of Electronic Communications Budget Control Level (D4400) in the 2007 Adopted Budget, not spent or encumbered in 2007, shall not lapse at the end of the 2007 fiscal year but
shall automatically carry over into the 2008 fiscal year until fully expended, abandoned or reappropriated to other authorized activities; provided, however, that the appropriations shall lapse at the end of the 2008 fiscal year unless carried over
further by a future ordinance.
Section 4. Any acts done consistent with and prior to the effective date of this ordinance are hereby ratified and confirmed.
Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty (30) days from and after its approval by the Mayor, but if not approved and returned by the Mayor within ten (10) days after presentation, it shall take effect as provided by Municipal
Code Section 1.04.020.
