AN ORDINANCE relating to City employment, adopting a 2016 Citywide Position List.

WHEREAS, the City Council annually adopts a Citywide Position List and a City Budget; and

WHEREAS, in 2015, the City Council passed Ordinance 124857 adopting a 2015 Citywide Position List, and Ordinance 124927 adopting the 2016 Budget; and

WHEREAS, Ordinance 124927 anticipated additional legislation from the Seattle Department of Human Resources proposing a 2016 Citywide Position List that reflects changes to the 2015 Citywide Position List; and

WHEREAS, Ordinance 124927 anticipated that such position list would include: modifications to the 2015 Position List for changes effected by subsection 3(a) of Ordinance 124927; the Seattle Human Resources Director’s reclassification of regular positions made from January 1, 2015 through December 31, 2015; and the creation, modification, or abrogation of regular positions by ordinances passed during the same time period; and

WHEREAS, the Seattle Department of Human Resources has duly compiled a 2016 Citywide Position List; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF SEATTLE AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. Effective January 1, 2016, the officer and employee positions designated in the “2016 Citywide Position List,” attached as Exhibit A, are hereby established as the regular full-time positions and regular part-time positions in the various City departments or offices shown in each position classification (title) listed, provided, however, that if Exhibit A shows a later effective date for any such position, the later date shall govern.

Section 2. The positions included in Exhibit A shall remain in effect subject to modification by any appropriate administrative or legislative action occurring on or after January 1, 2016.

Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force 30 days after its approval by the Mayor, but if not approved and returned by the Mayor within ten days after presentation, it shall take effect as provided by Seattle Municipal Code Section 1.04.020.
