COUNCIL BILL __________________
AN ORDINANCE relating to City employment, commonly referred to as the Third Quarter 2016 Employment Ordinance; designating positions as exempt from Civil Service status; returning a position to Civil Service status; and ratifying and confirming certain
prior acts; all by a 2/3 vote of the City Council.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF SEATTLE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Designating Four Positions as Exempt from Civil Service Status. As recommended by the Seattle Human Resources Director in the Classification Determination Report specified, the following positions are designated as exempt from
Civil Service as noted below, pursuant to Seattle Municipal Code subsection 4.13.010.1:
- One vacant position (10004605) in the Seattle Department of Transportation; Manager 2, General Government, designated to Executive 3 (Report #16-15165).
- One vacant position (10005737) in the Seattle Parks and Recreation Department; Strategic Advisor 3, General Government, designated to Strategic Advisor 3, Exempt (Report #16-15169).
- One vacant position (00026425) in the Seattle Public Utilities Department; Strategic Advisor 2, Finance, Budget, and Accounting, designated to Executive 2 (Report #16-15200).
- One filled position (00024340) in the Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs; Grants and Contracts Specialist, Senior, designated to Strategic Advisor 1, Exempt (Report #16-15335).
Section 2. Returning One Position from Exempt to Civil Service Status. As recommended by the Seattle Human Resources Director in the Classification Determination Report specified, this position is hereby returned to Civil Service as noted below:
- One vacant position (#10005624) in the Seattle Human Services Department; Strategic Advisor 2, Exempt, reallocated to Management Systems Analyst (Report #16-15263).
Section 3. Any act consistent with the authority of this ordinance taken after its passage and prior to its effective date is ratified and confirmed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force 30 days after its approval by the Mayor, but if not approved and returned by the Mayor within ten days after presentation, it shall take effect as provided by Seattle Municipal Code Section
1.04.020.
