A Proclamation Honoring the 2004 Seattle Police Department Employee Recognition Award Recipients.
WHEREAS, the Seattle Police Foundation was founded in January 2002 "to assist the police department to enhance relationships with the community, improve officer training, recognize the officers who protect us, provide equipment and technology to
ensure their safety and to enhance the service they provide our community every day"; and
WHEREAS, the Seattle Police Foundation held their 3rd Annual Seattle Police Awards Banquet on Saturday, October 30, 2004 to recognize and honor the many unsung heroes of the Seattle Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Seattle Police Department work with great dedication, courage, and unselfish resolve to protect and serve the citizens of Seattle with an unwavering commitment to public safety; and
WHEREAS, the recipients of the Seattle Police Department Employee Recognition Awards, whose names are attached to this Proclamation, were recognized for their courage, valor, hard work, innovation, inspiration, excellence, positive impact,
community-building and overall public service and;
WHEREAS, the citizens of Seattle are grateful for these officers' and civilians' exemplary accomplishments in the field of law enforcement and public safety and;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE SEATTLE CITY COUNCIL, that on behalf of all those who live, work, and play in Seattle, we express our appreciation and recognize the efforts of the winners and nominees of the 2004 Seattle Police Department
Employee Recognition Awards and thank them for their steadfast commitment to outstanding service.
