Legislation Title:

A RESOLUTION setting forth the 2011 State Legislative Agenda of the City of Seattle.

Summary of the Legislation:

This Resolution sets forth the City of Seattle’s 2011 State Legislative Agenda.  The agenda focuses on specific issues that directly affect Seattle’s population, including ongoing work to improve public safety, provide increased fiscal flexibility to local governments, support education and human services programs, and prioritize key transportation funding issues.

Background:

During the 2011 legislative session, the legislature will craft the operating, capital, and transportation budgets for the biennium.  Given the State’s current budget deficit and revenue projections, Seattle’s 2011 State Legislative Agenda focuses on a narrow set of policy priorities and maintaining existing state funding levels for high priority programs.
