Legislation Title:

Seattle Freight Advisory Board

Summary of the Legislation:

Background:  (Include a brief description of the purpose and context of legislation and include record of previous legislation and funding history, if applicable.)

Freight mobility issues are particularly important to Seattle’s two designated Manufacturing Industrial Centers.  In 2002, the Seattle Department of Transportation, together with the Seattle Manufacturing Industrial Center   established the Freight Mobility Advisory Committee (FMAC).

Recognizing that freight mobility is an important element of the transportation system, the City proposes to create a Seattle Freight Advisory Board, on par with both the Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Boards.  The Freight Advisory Board will be supported by existing staff in the Seattle Department of Transportation.
