Legislation Title:

An ordinance relating to land use and zoning, accepting an Amended Property Use and Development Agreement in connection with the contract rezone granted by Ordinance 116543, which rezoned property located at 5605 Martin Luther King Jr. Way South from Single Family 5000 (SF 5000) to Commercial 1/40. 

 

 

Summary of the Legislation:  The legislation would allow for an amendment to a Property Use and Development Agreement, or PUDA, granted in 1993 for construction of a commercial warehouse.  The property was acquired by Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority (“Sound Transit”) for construction activities related to Light Rail service in Southeast Seattle, and included the demolition of the structure and removal of the uses on the property that were developed under the PUDA.  To facilitate redevelopment of the property following cessation of Sound Transit’s use of the parcel, Sound Transit seeks a modification to the existing PUDA to allow for redevelopment of the site.
