Legislation Title:

AN ORDINANCE relating to City streets, changing the name of a portion of Southwest Eddy Street between 31st Avenue Southwest and High Point Drive Southwest to Southwest Bataan Street, and superseding prior ordinances to the extent inconsistent.

· Summary of the Legislation: This legislation renames a portion Southwest Eddy Street between 31st Avenue Southwest and High Point Drive Southwest to Southwest Bataan Street.

· Background: (Include brief description of the purpose and context of legislation and include record of previous legislation and funding history, if applicable): When the City approved and confirmed the plat of High Point Community (Ord. _______ (C.B. 114817)), it vacated portions of numerous streets, including Bataan Place and established a new street grid with new street names. The City Council has determined that the new street within the plat of High Point Community named Southwest Eddy Street is more appropriately named Southwest Bataan Street in order to recognize the sacrifice and lives lost in World War II.
