Legislation Title:

AN ORDINANCE vacating portions of Southwest Lanham Way, Southwest Graham Street, Southwest Kenny Street, Southwest Juneau Street, Southwest Raymond Street, Sylvan Way Southwest, 29th Avenue Southwest, 31st Avenue Southwest, 32nd Avenue Southwest, Bataan Place Southwest, High Point Drive Southwest, McArthur Court Southwest, portions of the underlying plat of High Point Addition to the City of Seattle, Block 7 of the Supplemental Plat of High Point Addition, and lots and alleys adjoining Lots 15 through 24 of Block 25 through 28 of Plat No. 1 of West Side Addition to West Seattle on the petition of the Seattle Housing Authority; approving and confirming the plat of “High Point Community” a replat of a portion of Sections 24 and 25, Township 24 North, Range 3 East, W.M., and accepting a Property Use and Development Agreement in relation thereto, (C.F. 305070, C.F. 305400 and Subdivision Application No. 2202170).

 

·        Summary of the Legislation:

This legislation relates to the Seattle Housing Authority's (SHA) High Point Redevelopment Project in Southwest Seattle.  The ordinance vacates portions of rights-of-way, plats and lots within the existing High Point site (C.F. 305070). The ordinance also approves and confirms the full subdivision for the Redevelopment Project (C.F. 305400 and Subdivision Application No. 2202170) and accepts a Property Use and Development Agreement  (PUDA) protecting the City Council vacation conditions, all relating to this redevelopment.

This legislation completes the High Point vacation petition process and approves the subdivision for SHA’s High Point Redevelopment Project. The City Council granted conditional approval of the vacation in 2003. The subdivision was also approved in 2003. The project is being constructed in two phases.  Phase one is scheduled for completion in 2006. Phase Two in 2013.  The vacation conditions are protected by the Property Use and Development Agreement accepted by the ordinance and all conditions of the Hearing Examiner for the plat have been fulfilled.
