Steve Brown and Erika Lund from the Seattle Police Department; Robin Kordik and Mark Orth from the Seattle Parks and Recreation Department; Shannon and Wilson; Seattle Parks and Recreation Department; and WHEREAS, Seattle Public Utilities Natural Lawn Care team consisting of Carl Woestwin, David McDonald, Preeti Shridhar, Nota Lucas, Catherine Rivera; Julie Colehour and Mike Rosen, Pacific Rim Resources; Molly Brumley, Brumley Communications; Doug Rice and Annette Frahm, King County DNR; Bob Frause, and Erika Schmidt, The Frause Group, through their efforts, have been awarded the Silver Anvil for Community Relations by the Public Relations Society of America for the Natural Lawn Care campaign; and WHEREAS, Ron Harris-White, Seattle Public Utilities Director's Office of Communications; Seattle City Light Peter Clarke, City Light Office of Communications; Michelle Mansfield, Producer; Nancy Guppy, Writer; Mary Joe de Beck, Seattle Public Schools, Lisa Yeakel, Seattle Schools Instructional Broadcast Center, and Trena Berton, intern, Seattle Public Utilities, through their efforts, have been awarded an Emmy Award from the Seattle-Northwest chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for the children's environmental program, "Dig It" in the category of Children and Youth Special or Series; and WHEREAS, Ron Harris-White, Seattle Public Utilities Director's Office of Communications; Peter Clarke, Seattle City Light Office of Communications; Michelle Mansfield, Producer; Nancy Guppy, Writer; Mary Joe de Beck , Seattle Public Schools, Lisa Yeakel, Seattle Public Schools Instructional Broadcast Center, and Trena Berton, intern, Seattle Public Utilities, through their efforts, have been awarded an Emerald City Gold Award from the Seattle chapter of the International Television Association for the children's environmental program, "Dig It" in the category of Education; and WHEREAS, Ron Harris-White, Seattle Public Utilities Director's Office of Communications; Priscilla Charlie Hinckley, Producer and Writer; and Lisa Yeakel, Seattle Public Schools Instructional Broadcast Center, through their efforts, have been awarded an Emerald City Gold Award from the Seattle chapter of the International Television Association for the salmon recovery program, "Restoring the Legacy", in the category of Information; and WHEREAS, Seattle Public Utilities is committed to providing high quality utilities service to it customers and citizens; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE, THE MAYOR CONCURRING, AS FOLLOWS: Seattle Public Utilities, Longfellow Creek Habitat Improvement Project staff, Seattle Public Utilities, Resource Management Branch Tolt Treatment Facility Design Build Operate (DBO) Project Management staff, Seattle Public Utilities Alki Landslide staff, Seattle Public Utilities Natural Lawn Care team, Seattle Public Utilities Director's Office of Communications, their associates, contractors and consultants are hereby recognized, for their work excellence and; Seattle Public Utilities, under the direction of Managing Director Diana Gale and the Seattle Public Utilities Executive Team consisting of J. Paul Blake, Debbie Broughton, Pat Colson, Scott Haskins, Raj Manhas, Linda Moreno, Nick Pealy and Tom Tanner are hereby recognized for their work excellence and their receipt of the American Society for Public Service 2001Public Service Award, the American Water Works Association Award for Excellence in Communication and the Gold Award for Competitiveness Achievement from the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies.
