WHEREAS, by Resolution 26904, the City of Seattle adopted the Seattle Comprehensive Transportation Program (SCTP), a classification system for all Seattle streets; and

WHEREAS, by Resolution 27152, the City of Seattle adopted revisions to the SCTP, Street Classification Guidelines and the Street Classification Maps, which included traffic, transit, truck, bicycle, pedestrian and boulevard classifications; and

WHEREAS, by Resolutions 30790 and 30799, the City of Seattle adopted the TSP and the Seattle Transit Plan, which incorporate an updated classification system for all Seattle streets including traffic, transit, truck, bicycle, and boulevard classifications; and

WHEREAS, by Resolutions 31367, the City of Seattle adopted the Transit Master Plan, which identified key corridors linking urban villages and established performance standards;

and

WHEREAS, Metropolitan King County's Metro Transit has proposed routing changes that require revisions to the Transit Classification Map; and

WHEREAS, the City recognizes that periodic changes to Metro Transit's service are necessary for transit service to be responsive to changing conditions, and to maintain a high quality of transit service consistent with the TSP and Seattle Transit Plan; and

WHEREAS, these transit classification changes are consistent with the street classification guidelines found in the Seattle Transit Plan, which focus transit service on streets that are designed to withstand transit vehicle weights and with compatible surrounding land uses; and

WHEREAS, these transit classification changes support the goals and policies of the Seattle Comprehensive Plan, last amended by Ordinance 123854, as well as the strategies of the City's TSP and Seattle Transit Plan; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE, THE MAYOR CONCURRING, THAT:

Section 1. The Director of Transportation is hereby authorized to amend the Transit Classification Map for the City of Seattle to classify the following streets as Minor Transit Streets:

a. 3 ^rd Avenue NW between NW 103 ^rd Street and NW Holman Road;

b. 7 ^th Avenue NW between NW Holman Road and NW 100 ^th Place;

c. NW 100 ^th Street between 7 ^th Avenue NW and NW 100 ^th Place;

d. West McGraw Street between 3 ^rd Avenue West and 6 ^th Avenue West;

e. 11 ^th Avenue NW between NW Leary Way and NW Ballard Way

f. NW Ballard Way between 11 ^th Avenue NW and NW Leary Way

g. SW 106 ^th Street between 35 ^th Avenue SW and SW Seola Drive/30 ^th Avenue SW;

h. Henderson Place SW between SW Henderson Street and SW Barton Street;

i. 8 ^th Avenue SW between SW Barton Street and SW Roxbury Street;

j. SW Genesee Street between Delridge Way SW and SW Avalon Way

Section 2. The Director of Transportation is hereby authorized to amend the Transit Classification Map for the City of Seattle to classify the following streets as Major Transit Streets:

a. NW 100 ^th Place between 7 ^th Avenue NW and NW 103 ^rd Street;

b. N. 92 ^nd Street between College Way North and 1 ^st Avenue NE

c. College Way North/Meridan Avenue North between N. 92 ^nd Street and N Northgate Way;

d. NW 85 ^th Street between 24 ^th Avenue NW and 32 ^nd Avenue NW

e. Stone Way North between North 40 ^th Street and Bridge Way N

f. Leary Way NW/North 36 ^th Street between 8 ^th Avenue NW and Fremont Avenue N

g. West Nickerson Street between 3 ^rd Avenue West and West Cremona Street

h. West Nickerson Street between 15 ^th Avenue West and 3 ^rd Avenue West

i. S. Lander Street between 4 ^th Avenue and 6 ^th Avenue;

j. 6 ^th Avenue between South Holgate and South Forest Street;

k. South Forest Street between 6 ^th Avenue and Airport Way

l. Bayview Street between 6 ^th Avenue S and 5 ^th Place S

m. SW Barton Street between 26 ^th Avenue SW and 35 ^th Avenue SW

n. Weller Street between 7 ^th Avenue S and 8 ^th Avenue S

Section 3. The Director of Transportation is hereby authorized to amend the Transit

Classification Map for the City of Seattle to classify the following streets as Local Transit

Streets:

a. NW 48 ^th Street between 8 ^th Avenue NW and NW Leary Way

b. NE 64 ^th Street between Sand Point Way NE and Radford Drive NE

c. Radford Drive NE between NE 64 ^th Street and NE 65 ^th Street

d. NE 65 ^th Street between Radford Drive NE and Sand Point Way NE

e. 17 ^th Avenue NE between NE 145 ^th Street and NE 143 ^rd Street

f. NE 143 ^rd Street between 17 ^th Avenue NE and 15 ^th Avenue NE
