WHEREAS, Council initiated the vacation process of Broad Street lying between Harrison Street and 6th Avenue North in Resolution 31374; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE, THAT:
Section 1. A hearing for the vacation of a portion of Broad Street between Taylor Avenue North and 6th Avenue North described as:
Those portions of Broad Street, 6th Avenue North, Taylor Avenue North and Condemnation Ordinance No. 84452 which fall north and west of the following line:
The True Point of Beginning being a point on the south line of Parcel B as shown on City of Seattle Lot Boundary Adjustment No. 3008913, recorded under King County Recording No. 20080702900011 and the north margin of Harrison Street as shown on Seattle
Engineer's map, Tile No. 338, said point bears North 01 degrees 34'55" West, a distance of 35.23 feet from a monument at the intersection of the centerlines of Harrison Street and Taylor Avenue North;
Thence South 88 degrees 33'54" East, a distance of 276.74 feet to a point which bears North 52 degrees 00'43" West, a distance of 58.81 feet from a monument at the intersection of the centerline of Harrison Street and 6th Avenue North;
Thence North 33 degrees 22'25" East, a distance of 21.25 feet to a point which bears North 32 degrees 43'26" West, a distance of 64.12 feet from said monument at Harrison Street and 6th Avenue North;
Thence North 01 degrees 28'09" East, a distance of 172.50 feet to the beginning of a curve with a radius of 369.00 feet, concave to the East, which center bears South 88 degrees 31'51" East;
Thence along said curve a distance of 137.34 feet and through a central angle of 21 degrees 19'32" to a point of the northwesterly margin of Condemnation Ordinance No. 84452, said point bears North 04 degrees 05'17" West from a monument at the
intersection of Broad Street and 6th Avenue North, said point also being the terminus of this described line;
Together with the portion of the alley of Block 65, D.T. Denny's Home Addition to the City of Seattle which lies south of Vacation Ordinance No. 90487.
OR in the alternative, to vacate any portion of these rights-of-way as described;
RESERVING to the City of Seattle the right to make all necessary slopes for cuts or fills upon the property in the reasonable original grading of any right-of-way abutting upon the property after the vacation, and further;
RESERVING to the City of Seattle the right to reconstruct, maintain and operate any existing overhead or underground utilities in the property until the beneficiaries of the vacation arrange with the owner(s) for their removal:
is hereby fixed so that August 14th, 2012, at 9:30 a.m., in the City Council Chambers, Floor 2 City Hall, is the time and place that the Transportation Committee of the City Council will consider the petition, and the City Clerk is directed to give the
notice of such hearing in the manner provided by law. A map, indicating the property described in the petition shall be affixed to and become a part of the notice, required by law to be posted in a conspicuous place on the right-ofway sought to be
vacated.
